I am looking to get some new tires and rims. I currently have the stock rims and am looking at the Konig K-Tune 17x7 wheels. I'm not sure if I can put run flat tires on these rims. Any thoughts? Also, if I go with non run flat tires and rims, how will that affect the sensors on my 06 Mini S? Thanks

 

'06 does not have sensors. And why would you buy new wheels and then put run-flats on them?

 

I do have a light on the dash for low tire psi. My question was, if I want to stay with the run flat tires and upgrade the rims, can I buy any wheel or are there run flat specific rims and how this would affect the sensor?

 

Low tire pressure is a function of differences in the rotational speeds of all wheels as detected by the electronic gizmo connected to the ABS sensors, not sensors in each wheel. That feature does not appear until the 2007 model year.

 

Thanks for the info. Do you know if a run flat tire will be compatible with a standard rim?
