I was very interested in the GTS-R until I found out it was made in China and cast according to tirerack. Other sites seem to state "All Breyton wheels are made in Germany to the highest standards.".
So where exactly are the Breyton GTS-R's made? I sent an email to info@breyton.com and it immediately bounced back.

Breytons are made in China though German branding. IMO, as long as they pass the TUV standards, it doesn't matter where's the origin of make... Originally Posted by devicemanager

Since Tire Rack is the only Breyton US distributor I cannot fathom as to why they would have them incorrectly listed as being made in China if they were in fact made in Germany. Then again M!N!-ME says his are stamped "made in Germany".
I like the overall look of the GTS-R (they resemble JCW challenge spoke), but I just cannot see paying $300'ish for a Chinese gravity cast wheel.

I'm still pretty new at tire sizes and rims so I have what I'm sure is a pretty simple question:
I currently have the stock 17" black web spokes with Dunlop SP Sport 01's size 205/45R17 on them,
Link:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
I was planning on buying the 17" Breyton GTS-R's with blizzak winter tires on them (same size tires as the dunlops).
Link:
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....odClar=Hardtop
I can directly swap the tires on both sets of rims with no problem right?
The goal is to use the breytons with the dunlop tires in the summer and the stock rims with the blizzak tires in the winter since they're heavier and I won't be going all that fast in the snow anyways...
Thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

The primary issue with GTS is that its a 5 lug fit. I can do a set of GTS-R's for $916 + shipping in silver.Originally Posted by g-bodrummer

There are minute consmetic variations, the shape of the releif between the split spokes, and the depth of the flange disk (lug accress area) shape .

yeah I am on stock suspension. I won't lower it as I scrape certain alleys already and I don't want any vibrations and any strain on the cv axels/joints.

JustinGTP, I love the way you set your car up. The color, grille accent, tints, and THOSE BREYTONS. Originally Posted by JustinGTP

Gorgeous photos!
thanks 03MINI! Now that you've said that, I miss my breytons. Can't wait for summer to roll around so I can put them back on!

You're welcome! I know what you mean. I was looking forward to a mild winter, so I could possibly work on the car, but there's been just too much snow and I'm running out of places to pile the stuff!Originally Posted by JustinGTP

By the way, what kind of camera did you use to capture that photo on the gravel road??

Just got some 17s from tirerack, pretty stoked on how much better the car looks with these.

A big thanks to everyone in this threads who posted pictures and helped me make up my mind.

How's the ride compared to the stock set-up, would love to hear your thoughts. I'm going with the Breyton's, still on the fence between 17 or 18's.1st Gear

The ride is 100% better, I can still feel the road but I don't feel every vibration from each little imperfection in the road. Also cornering is a lot better, I was considering 18s but I'm really happy I went with the 17s for the sake of ride quality, plus for some reason the Breyton's look bigger than 17sOriginally Posted by BlueToy

Hi alex, thanks for the reply, probly going to get a set of these once my tax return hits the bank. i will need (4) breyton 4x100 18" wheels, (4) 215/35R18 XL Kumho Ecsta ASTBlackwall tires. i assume you guys mount and balance the wheel and tire package to save on shipping cost? can you give me a rough estimate on the 4 wheels and tire mounted and balanced, shipped to 14218?
