I'm wondering on this too. I prefer the looks of the Breytons but the Enkeis ARE like 2 pounds lighter...my wife says it's a no brainer, and is really perplexed that I'd give the Enkeis a second thought, and she has a much keener eye than I do...what about the weight, though?

Did we ever hear what the resolution was of Justin's cracked spoke question?

Quick question - With the offset of the Breyton GTS-R being +40, is there any benefit to putting on 5mm spacers? Or in putting on spacers, are there any issues that may arise having them on the MINI?

I run 5mm spacers. I initially ran them because I thought I heard slight rubbing and it did help with some of the noise. Ive had no other problems running them

I'm running 5mm on the fronts and 12mm on the rears...you'll have no problems with the fives. Are you looking to flush the tire/wheel out a little?

That was my original intent. Not sure if I really need to though. Here's a pic.

Looks good. 5mm is really small, but for me I was a trying to get the stance just right. I think the rears are where it could use the most help, maybe try a 12mm there. What size tires are you running?

Looks great to me.

Interesting that the 17" GTS-R don't seem to be available for sale on Tire Rack anymore.

That is strange, I just checked with a 2012 S and they came up with no issue. What is the exact year and model your looking under?

2012 MINI Cooper S JCW Package = no 17" Breyton's results
2012 MINI Cooper S Hardtop = 17" Breyton's

Hmmmm very tempting... Maybe in the dark grey colour.

Anybody interested in buying 17" MINI Challenge wheels???

I personally think the +40 looks great - even better with your lowered suspension.

I have +40 for my winter setup with Enkei Imola's and it just looks good enough with the stock ride height.

Thanks for the observation. Much appreciated. +1

I have the spacers, but not going to put them on. The stance has grown on me. =)

Shiny indeed!

You're right, several pics in front of Starbucks! I need to curb my coffee splurge while on vacation.

Next pic will be a change of scenery.

Read through the threads and there was one posting suggesting that with the factory JCW Brembo brakes, you need a 5mm spacer for the 17" GTS-R? Is that true?

EDIT: Confirmed from Alex...
With the JCW the clearances are very tight. With a 3mm spacer, you have less than 2mm clearance. With a universal 5mm spacer, you don't have any more stub axel. If you had a 5mm spacer with the hub centric pilots for Mini, it would work.

Hey there, new member and mini owner here. I have a 2009 DS MCS, been looking around for some wheels and keep coming back to the Breyton's!

Looking for some guidance or maybe some pictures of the Dark Silver with the Black wheels or the Silver wheels because I can't make up my mind!! its driving me insane! I did see the post earlier in this thread with the grey, but not much of a fan. I am leaning towards 18"..

And I just wanted to say that this thread has been extremely helpful! Already know what tire size I want and all, pretty set on the 18's as I dont want to lower it any and will run a slightly larger sidewall to fill the gap as much as possible.

Thanks in advance for any responses! Will have my eyes peeled on this thread!

I figure I must be missing something with some many people wanting the Challenge Wheels.

Checked w/ Tire Rack Alex and it would seem that I will need 5mm spacers to fit the Breytons on my JCW so I am not going to proceed for now. Will give the car a nice wash for the weekend and think about my options.

I think what I really need (well, want) is to lower the suspension AND paint the challenge wheels a darker grey.

Ok, a change of scenery for ya'll. On the way back to Virginia, while driving through a small East Texas town, I stopped at this long abandoned gas station to take this picture. As you can see in the picture...to the right, is a Texas state trooper that pulled over observing what I was doing.

Instant classic pic!
