Instructions for Beru TPMS install?

I cannot find the *&^% instructions for installing the Beru TPMS 'kit' (valve and monitoring device) and "Search" absolutely hates me. I see the valve kit is a 4 piece unit; the valve, a holding/positioning rod, a fastening screw and a washer/O-ring.

What's the extra washer/O-ring for?
Is the screw a hex head or some kind of torx?
How tight to you tighten the outter valve fastener?

How does this unit exactly work?

Thanks!

There's a general how-to installation/replacement video here: http://www.powertvonline.com/video_detail.php?mId=1764

They work by measuring the pressure and transmitting it to the car's computer. Did you want to install it on aftermarket wheels? Why not have the shop do it when they install the tires?

How does it work?

My question for how it works, is where does the energy to transmit any kind fo signal come from? The unit is sealed, so far as I can tell there's no battery in the unit. Does the wheel rotation create energy within the unit. Does the pick-up unit(s) outside the car send a signal to the unit (excite it) and receive a signal back?

This stuff doesn't seem like rocket science to install, I was wondering what the additional washer is for and how the unit should be positioned within the rim. I was figuring the sensing/sending unit needs to lay flat against the rim so any centrifugal force just pushes the unit outside, flat to the rim.

Thanks for the link.

The TPMS kit comes with a beveled washer and a non-beveled washer. The non-beveled washer is for BMW's and the beveled was for Mercedez I believe. The power comes from the big dark block of a battery, which is good for I believe 10 years.

Thanks!

Outstanding (and interesting ...). Now if Rota would see fit to bring more Silver RBs 16X7 into the US, I'd have wheels with which to mount the sensors on!!!
