Aftermarket wheels install kit?

When ordering aftermarket wheels from discounttiresdirect.com, it adds a $70 install kit to the order. Is this kit necessary?

I was gonna say, because I'd rather have a wheel stud conversion kit anyway, not some lugs I don't need. Thanks.

If you're going with the stud conversion kit, no the install kit isn't necessary.

But if you weren't going to do the stud conversion, the install kit may be necessary. Not all aftermarket wheels will accept the MINI's lug bolt.

The kit contains, tuner lug bolts (necessary on some after market wheels), a lug bolt removal tool, and hubcentric rings (necessary for almost any aftermarket wheel on a MINI).

Even with a stud conversion kit, make sure you get lug nuts that aren't too big for the hole in the wheel. Again, some aftermarket wheels have small lug bolt holes, especially the Drag brand from Discount Tire.
