In the stock class, you can run R-compounds. The best tire for the MINI is the Kuhmo V710, 215/45/16. Any 16x6.5" wheel with an offset 45 to 49 will work; lighter is better.

Depends on what wheels you are looking for, their are many different places but I have yet to see one that carries all of them.

BTW, if you are new to AX I suggest you dont start on R-comps, they will hide a lot of potential mistakes thus making it seem like you are driving better than you really are. Likewise it is also possible to wear them out much fast than regular street tires leaving you with an expensive problem.

To give you an idea, I autocrossed on my S-lite and Nokian WR all season for my first season of autocross, and in the hands of a good driver even all season can be fast. My first few AXs I was regualarly finishing dead last in my class, by the end of the season I was placing 3rd or 4th out of 8 or 9 cars. The most enlightening moment for me was seeing an 07 MC go out an run a faster time on worn all seasons then I had run all year, its only after that you realize its 90% driver and 10% car.

I believe Grassroots Motorsports did a series of articles testing on rim and tire sizing on the 06 S. I believe the author won his class in that car both regionally and did well (if not won) nationals.

I gotta try those kumho's...
i'm running hankook ventus rs-2 right now, and for tire rack's "extreme performance" tires... they're rock hard.

wish they had yokohama advan tires in my sizes... :(
