What spare tires can I use for 05 Cooper S?

Took off the run-flats of my 05 Cooper S. I don't know much about tires and offsets and lug patterns. Can someone tell me what tires I can use as spares?

Will any Chevy Cobalt tires fit? I have 16" right now.

Tire size now is 195/55-16

Tires will fit, but if you need a spare wheel, I don't think a Cobalt will work.
Mini bolt pattern is 4x100 with a 56.1mm center bore. I used a 15" space
saver spare off a Jetta. 14" spares may not clear brake calipers (rear). FYI.

I too would like to know if there is a space saver wheel that will over the front calipers on a standard brake 06 MCS.

Is the spare from a Just a Cooper regular size or doughnut? If doughnut, will it fit on the front?

You don't mount the space-saver spare on the front, because braking would be dangerously affected.

Instead, you swap a rear wheel to the front, then put the spare on the rear.

Where do you plan on carrying the spare ? The new Clubmans have a spare tire well in the trunk but we dont have one

I just picked up a Tire Slime Kit with air compressor from Autozone for $19.99+tax came to about $21.50. Same kit sold by vendors here from a lot more. It should take care of any flats you may have and takes up less room.

I bought some slime but I don't want to rely on that only.

I know they sell a spare tire carrier for the Mini.

If it's true about the spare tire not fitting in the front, then I'd just rather buy another tire and carry it around just in case that way I can use it wherever I want.

But how do I find out if a rim will fit?

For example I'd get this wheel:

And this tire:

Does anyone know if I could get those two and just use it right out of the box or will I need to adapt anything?

Typically I dont post referrals to ebay sales BUT...............

here is one for for sale, Meriden CT advertised for an 05.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...MEWA:IT&ih=010

and BTW......not mentioned yet, but if you plan on putting on your own spare without AAA assistance, I would suggest that you also include a heavy rubber mallet for your boot as well.

These OEM rims tend to get "glued" onto the hubs. I just swapped out my runflats on S-lites for a set of Enkei Perf Rims and non-runflats tires, and the S-Lites were just off the week previous. In that short amount of time, two rims had already re-glued itself to the hub, and w/o a mallet I would never had been able to remove it.

And.... I have those Bridgestones you are looking at right now. They seem ok so far.

I know too little about this. What do you mean a rubber mallet for the boot?

Sorry

Sorry, not for boot, but one to keep in your boot.

Two weeks ago, put on two used runflats onto my S-Lites. I watched a tire tech guy have trouble removing several of the rims. He had to leave one lug on somewhat loose, then proceed to karate kick the tire until it came loose, the one lug left on kept it from falling to the deck.

Two weeks later, I purchase a set of non runflats on Enkei rims pre-mounted and balanced.

I jacked up my MINI in my garage, and had a lot of difficulty removing two of the 4 rims. Had to use a mallet - banging from inside edge of rim under car to get it free........would have used karate kick method but I dont have a lift in my garage.....
