Thanks Steve.
Wheels were ruined by a tire shop I bought them from.
I "fixed" them with my own "spin".

While I had everything apart, I cleaned the insides of the barrel out with an abrasive sanding wheel and had them powdercoated in a darker brown with a slight gold flake in it (too bad that it gets lost inside the wheel, but it does hide brake dust better).

very nice custom job aaron

Nice looking wheels, Aaron! Of course, I'm kind of partial to painted web spokes - dark silver, especially.

More details on mine were posted here: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-polished.html

Heh... I did the custom powdercoating in the summer of 2008, but you are way late in painting the arches! I had that done back when very few were doing it! I went to my dealership a month or so ago and they had 3 PW R56 MINIs on the lot with painted arches! (and they had never seen one in PW until I brought mine in for service after having the paintwork done)

We did the opposite, though. My lip is silver with a slightly bronzed center. It looks like you went the other way with a bronze lip and silver centers. Looks good!

Well I painted mine back in the summer...but I just got my car in january(of last year now)! I guess I caused quite a stir at the dealership when my car was in for service at the end of the summer with the painted arches, painted on white/gold stripes all the way down the front and polished webspokes with gold painted lip. From what my MA told me, people were coming in asking how they could get their Mini ordered to look like that lol.

EDIT: Oh and i'll be re-doing my webspokes soon...i'm hoping i'll be getting some new bolts for them...anodized gold ones :D I ordered them ages again but probably won't see them for a looong time still lol. I'm also painting some interior trim pieces to match the green/gold/white theme my car has going on.

Love these wheels as well! Looking good guys.

Quick question for you....anyone ever have the polished lip "refinished". I live where the roads are horrid, hit a pot hole tonight and now that nice polished lip looks like its been gone over with a cheese grater. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

OK, anyone running a Big Brake Kit with the R98 web spokes? My research thus far indicates that we are screwed unless one is willing to add 20mm+ spacers to the wheels ... which is not an option on my track-driven R56.

Anyone know if these will fit a factory jcw car??

I am in love with web spoke wheels.. time to just face it and get a set for "Comet". I plan to have them powder coated in white.. Will I be the first?

Hey, does anybody have either a totalled Web Spoke or some extra bolts? I slipped with the wrench and stripped one of the bolts. Anybody have the bolts?

I'm looking to do something like a dark gray/anthracite/smoke kind of powdercoat on my PW convertible. Of course, Jango's look pretty good. Think he'd notice if I swapped ours out? I'm not far from him :P
Just kidding - nice work, Aaron. Was that a custom color?
