Brake Fluid Change

I had the brake fluid changed in my 2002 MCS last week.

I happened to step on the brake pedal before starting the car and it made a "squishy" sound. Stepping on the pedal a few more times reduced the pedal travel, as if pumping them up. Normally I get in the car, start the engine, turn on the radio, release the handbrake and go, so I've never noticed this before.

Is this normal or weren't the brakes bled properly?

The pedal travel when applying the brakes to stop doesn't seem to have changed and the brakes work fine.

Sounds like you just had to push the pistons back out of the calipers, thats all.

Yah, the shop that did the change should have done this for you, but it is common sound on the first press of the brake (also the sensation of standing in pudding). It should have gone away after about the 3rd press. If you are still hearing it on startup then you might have air in the lines, and want to get that checked asap.

If there's a hiss from under the dash it could also be a bad power booster. Just another thing to think about.
