Searched but couldn't really find any information that helped me.

I am picking up my mini on Saturday, and it needs new tires. I do not plan to autocross, but occasionally I do some spirited driving on the canyon roads, but thats about it. The guy at discount tire told me to buy either Falken Ziex 512 or Yokohama S-Drive.

Been a while since I had to buy passenger car tires, but which of those two would be better, or would you buy something else?

 

I won't run anything but Goodyear Eagle F1's

 

Sounds like your tire guy was getting bonused on Falken or Yokohama's. I haven't heard good things about either of those tires--though opinions on tires are like certain bodily orifices--everybody has one.

Like that7guy, I'm a big fan of the Goodyear F1-D3. I've also had pretty good luck with Kumho MX's.

You're not likely to find a single tire that everyone agrees on, but I'm sure someone with similar driving habits/needs will post with what they've had the best luck with.

 

Falken 912s have been good for me.
