08 Cooper S withOUT TPMS
08 Cooper S withOUT TPMS
Hey Guys,
I just got a set of TD with OUT the TPMS on them because the dealer forgot to send me the new ones and sent me the ones without the TPMS which is a whole other story.
Anyway, can I use these or is the light going to be on the whole freaking time which I cannot shut off?
Any insight or suggestions? Maybe I should send em back....just been waiting on these for 2 months and am itching to get these on

No TPMS is not so bad. Just check the tires yourself.
Get a piece of black tape and apply right over dash light.
I have kinda the same question but different!!LOL
If you install new wheels with the TPMS do the have to be calibrated/programmed by the dealer or will they just work??
Also is when the TPMS light triggers is there an audible warning as well??

I just put on new wheels and tires last week, so I'm versed in this subject.
Q1: No, but you or the installer will have to reset them using the OBC. There are simple directions in the owners manual. You scroll through the menu using the button at the end of the turn signal stalk, get to the right screen, hit reset, and begin driving and the sensor will reset in a couple of minutes.
Q2: No audible warning, just an exclamation mark in the box in the middle of the rpm gauge that shows your current mph if you are set to display that.
I'd have no problem getting used to the symbol if it were in a different location, such as where the exclamation point is when the ASC is turned off. That is always on in my car and it doesn't bother me a bit. The TPMS would bother me because it monopolizes a display that I'd like to have for other information. It's not the end of the world, but it's something that I like to have.
Thanks for the answers Wolf!!
The only reason I asked is because my girlfriend has a Nissan Murano and she had to have the sensors replaced due to negligence of a tire shop. She had to take the car to a dealer to get them to read again!!
