Need help picking out some new tires!

I have an 03 MCS and I wore out the Dunlop SP 5000's that came with it on a recent trip up to Big Bear, CA. one of my snow chains broke and defaced my mini's fender and subsequently left a crack in the front bumper. Grrrr. Pictures to come on that. But I have some loaner used run flats on there for the moment, and I've noticed my ASC light comes on about 1/5 of starts, and stays on. I'm not sure why, maybe it detects lousy tires?

Well I'm gonna buy 4 brand spankin' new tires and I'm not sure if to get those same Dunlop SP 5000's or something better/different. This car is my daily driver and I like to drive the southern cali canyons as well as 2-3 hour trips upstate once a monnth to visit mum. However! I'd like to be able to make the occasional drive to mountain high or big bear for some snowboarding and I'm wondering if there are some kind of all season tires that will allow me to do both with minimal headaches. I will NEVER put snow chains on my mini again. Thankyou for your responses in advance.

\m/ motor on!

You may want to check the Falken 912's. They handle very well in wet and dry conditions and they also give good light snow traction. Depending on the size tire you are looking for, they will give wear of either 40,000 miles or 65,000 miles. Let me know if you have any questions.

Go for some dedicated snow tires on steel rims. Much cheaper than a new fender.
