And you can find another boot release inside the car, under the rear seat cushion. (C'mon now, where else would it be!)

The way I got in the boot was, first read the manual, then flip a switch in the middle of the car and then use the key fob.

Top 10 Idiosyncracies of your new MINI
(paraphrased)

1.Thumbs Up - people like to give you a thumbs up when you drive the MINI
2. Power Steering - it's electric, it whines; yes, they all do that
3. Dimmer switch - push to dim or brighten
4. Button on dash - it's for the Auto AC. If you don't have it, don't worry
5. Windows - controlled by toggles in the toggle rack (center stack)
6. Flat tire monitor button - near hand brake
7. Bonnet release - on passenger side
8. Boot and Bonnet - already explained
9. Height adjustment - the outer handle in front of the seat - up is up, down is down (inner handle is fore/aft)
10. Seatback adjustment - outside handle down to tilt/slide forward, inside handle up to adjust seatback angle
