Hey Alex,
Where did you find the 1140lb load spec for the MINI?

>>Thanks Alex, looks like 25lbs for the 17" s-lite. I have another question though, if I went 18x7.5or18x8 which wheels will work without spacers on the stoptech or brembo big brakes? Then also you rec a 225/40-18 size tire?

I'd have do address each wheel, and its individual design to know wich would fit. 215/35 remains for the tire size. All my 18's are 7.5 width.

Alex

Hi Vespa,

As mensioned in previos discussions there is a tire industry stadard guide used, called Bennett's tire guide. I use Bennett's to determine what the load bearing capacity of a given tire size.

Many manufactures have differing load claims, in any one size. Using Bennett's puts tire manufacture aside, and calculates the internal air chamber's volume, and proportinally how much load can be carried by a given inflation pressure and volume.

OE size on S at 33 PSI is 1140 lbs a tire.

I tried mounting 215/45/17 and 205/45/17 's on a 38mm offset wheel today and it did not work. Rubbing on the plastic in both cases. I do have a 30 mm drop, however, I thought I would be safe.
