Crazy...I thought the same thing! Definitely look like 18s. Looks good.
I think I see what the optical illusion is and it's a pretty good one. Where most people are used to seeing the spokes end and there be about a 1/2" to the lip at the edge of the rim, these spokes extend to very close to the lip and have the supporting rim somewhat recessed. So what is actually a part of the sidewall, you're brain perceives as being part of the wheel itself. I had to look twice really carefully to see what exactly was going on here, cool effect and a great way to get the lower profile look without all the downsides.
Dude, car looks fantastic, but you're in Union with no front plate? I'd expect to be pulled over every time I drove through Westfield or Cranford with no frontie. Have you been hassled at all?
Nice Gnat! Here's your old wheels on my car. So far so good. Apologize in advance for the dirty and wet car, I'll get some better pics for this thread sometime soon. I'm going to pick up some of the smaller center caps that just snap into the hubs and leave the lug bolts uncovered. Other than that these are pretty
I know this is a picture thread, but i wanted to ask a question without starting a new thread.
I'm looking at some wheels for my Mini that are 17 X 7's. The recommended tire size according to the site are 205/45/17. The offset is 42mm.
I'd really like to have a tire size of 215/45/17. So, my question is; can i order the 17 X 7 wheels and get them to fit on some 215/45/17 tires? Do i need to change/order a different offset? I really don't understand this stuff at all. Thanks.
