Alex:
I asked you this last week, wrote it down on a note, and promptly lost the note.

Question relates to the maximum tread I can put on the ground in what tire & wheel size. Avid Autocrosser w/National level competitive car. Currently running 15x7 Kosei K1 w/ BFG TA-KD's in 225/50/15 -- purchased from you  -- AND 15x6.5 AK Monza's w/205/50/15 Falken Azenis.

What is available in a 245 either the TA-KD or S03 Pole Position or comparable that might fit w/ only minor rubbing, AND is not taller in diameter than stock? Wheel spacers are an option.

The car is lowered w/Leda Coilovers (215/45/17's rubbed in the back when car was loaded down with stuff)

Thanks again
David

in 245/50/15 - (closest in diameter 24.6)

Hoosier makes a road race tire R3s03 that requires an 8 inch wide wheel.
Dunlop makes a Sp Sport 8000, witch mounts from 6.5-8.5 inches.

This size, wile close in diameter is WAY wider that I would recomed to fit

I have a related question that I hope you can answer. I would like to run Kumho V700 Victoracers in 225/50ZR15 on 15x7 Kosei K-1s for DE (I'm an instructor) and autocross. The Koseis TR stocks are are ET35 right? Will this combination clear both the fender lip and strut?

My street tires are 215/45ZR17 Yoko ES100s (from TR, love 'em!) on 17x7 ET45 wheels. No clearance problems.

thanks...ned.

The Kosei's are 15x7 et 38. 225/50 looks good in diameter and load, but its wider that I can guarantee to fit.

By my measurements, using published dimensinal data from Kumho, it would be very close on the finder lip. I was hoping that you might have tried them on the black over white/red MINI I saw in South Bend last weekend. I think it was shod with 205/50R15s.

Given the available sizes in affordable R compound tires like Kumhos, what's the best compromise for the weekend warrior? At the moment, 205/50R15 looks okay but is a little small in diameter (not necessarily a bad thing) and a touch narrower than I would like. There don't seem to be any obvious answers in 16" or 17" wheel sizes either. Fifteen inchers seem to be the way to go for weight savings.

Thanks for your thoughts...ned.

p.s. sorry if this is a rehash of an old thread, my searches to date haven't found an answer.

I have known 225/45/15 to fit on the car, strictly for autocrossing. Not somthing I can guarantee to fit.
