2nd gen RFs need special wheels?

I am not sure if this is true, but I heard that the 2nd gen RFs need wheels that have a taller side lip or something like that. In other words, 2nd gen RFs won't work on our wheels and would have to use 1st gen RFs. Is this true? TIA

You can use 2nd gen RF with EH2+ hump on older MINI rims. The newer made MINI rims are slightly different to help support the newer RF tires due to slightly softer sidewalls they are designed with. I figure the newest rims are better able to support the newest design of runflat tires.

For example you can use-
195/55R16 Goodyear Excellence Runflats on any MINI with 16x6.5" rims (or other suitable rim).

New runflats will work safely with older rims. And the newer runflats are quite a bit better than the older runflats.
