Looking for the original logo style version shown above only, not the revised logo version still available. Must be New Old Stock in pristine unblemished condition. Not for mine but for my buddy's just-purchased 2006 R53 JCW Checkmate edition which has painted-to-match Aero sills. Objective being to keep it period correct with the original style entry strips. PM what you have or leads to known availability, please!
Like shown in above image snagged from the internet...
Your friend may wait an eternity to find those, especially NOS. If he gets impatient, I can tell you that these repros, which will cost less than half what you’d pay for OEM, are pretty much dead on. Only real difference is they are not set on a thin aluminum strip like the OEM, but makes no real difference. I have both NOS and the repros, and really can’t tell the difference. https://whatageek.co.uk/shop/gel-sill-strips/

Great suggestion, Jonny - thanks! I forwarded him (not yet NAM member) this ad, so we'll consider those. Perhaps seller's Checkmate option also, however I personally prefer the original JCW logo style. BTW, his factory JCW Checkmate has just 6k total miles purchased from the original owner.

Thanks for the quick response! We'll be in touch asap...
My JCW Checkmate had dealer installed Aero and the original Checkmate sills were not transferred over (near impossible I gather) nor replaced with new Checkmate sills. They installed the JCW sills you're looking for... I guess JCW entry sills are cool since it's a 3AL car, but I wonder what the 'proper' protocol was back then when Aero was installed on a Checkmate.
^^^ I did R&R of my driver side "Cooper S" entry sill plate (dented) and can confirm it was a very messy job. Peeling it off deformed and made it non-reusable anyway, then scraping the delaminated foam tape, using a bunch of Goo Gone to soften and remove the remaining gunk followed by orange oil degreaser and iso alcohol to restore clean plastic for adhesion took a lot more time than anticipated for such a task.
On the Checkmate thread, I believe I read those came from the factory with unique "Checkmate" sill plate graphics which then couldn't be reused as I outlined. If a standard "S" Checkmate (whether with Aero or standard sills), I'm thinking replacement entry covers of same type would be appropriate, however if a factory or dealer-installed JCW, the original version JCW logo version instead seems appropriate IMO.

Reason: fixed typo

Not necessarily appropriate, I believe it was optional and the buyers preference, as the sill covers were not part of either the JCW tuning kit, or the Aero. Some went with no cover at all.
I believe the Checkmate sills are still available BTW... *if* your buddy wants to go that route (I would have, had I got the car!).
With further consideration, you make a valid point, i.e., if all R50 and R53 (S and just 301 JCW built per BMW production stats provided by @Maik-jcw) came equipped with Checkmate edition entry sill plates, perhaps replacements should be same type. If being judged in a top tier concours competition, a JCW Checkmate sporting JCW sill logo plates might be dinged points for non-originality. I'll discuss this with my buddy but thinking I agree with that.

Good points. From what I read and inferred from that, no sill plates installed with Aero sills was more of a cost thing which left the choice open to the buyer. With consideration of what those plates do on standard plastic sills by covering surface flatness irregularities including the plastic fastener heads, needed with standard sills but not with the Aero painted (other than providing scuff protection).
I think it's interesting that we can post a Marketplace WTB ad which turns into a worthwhile discussion from multiple enthusiasts!
@ECSTuning My buddy added both P/Ns to your cart, however it seems unusual BMW would do another production run of the RH side strip with consideration that the 2006 Checkmate is 16+ years out of production and those strips aren't service items. I used the P/Ns for google searching last night, which revealed the few online OEM parts sellers found show them as "discontinued" (or NLA). Placing orders with ECS is usually subject to single complete shipments but in this case, uncertain that the RH side would ever materialize.
So then, highly interested in the OEM Checkmate items, however the search for original version NOS JCW sill entry strips continues...
They have an eta on BMW groups portal. When there is no eta and you cannot order then then they are nla. Also no one has a live link portal to the MINI/BMW portal. Not even MINI dealers so when they set it nla once, it will never come back and check it setting it live. We have seen a bunch of things go NLA(well back order) during covid then come back online as the suppliers are making it again.
Does not happen all the time but happens.
Sometimes we have stuff on the site that never sold and BMW/MINI will not alert us its NLA until we place an order.
As always on parts that don't have pics, not in stock and not cataloged, we can check for you. If they are older then 15 years PM me.
^^^ Thanks for posting that link, Adam! Comparing those ad pics to Jonny's "looks" genuine on font style and character dimensions, however perhaps counterfeit. Looking at seller's feedback shows he has sold (11) of these in the last 12 months as well as a number of JCW Tuning Certificates. Price is good but perhaps too good!
