Suspension Suggested alignment settings
Suggested alignment settings
I am going to be installing my suspensions parts soon and was wondering what would the suggested settings be for the front and rear camber/toe?
This is going to be for the occasional track day/AutoX and "spirited" daily driving.

-2 in the front
-0.5 in the rear
0 toe front and rear
do some test runs in a controlled place to check for radical oversteer and adjust rear bar to suit
I have no experience with this, but it is where I would start.

I mostly agree with Keith. I might consider -1.0 in back. Know that, with these settings, your Mini will turn-in very quickly, but you'll lose some stability on the highway. It'll be a lot like trying to walk a straight line on tip-toes. Not terrible, but you'll need to pay more attention.
If you start with 0 toe all around, be prepared to change that... You might find the car to be a bit twitchier than you want. A bit more conservative setting would be a slight bit of toe in for the rear and 0 toe up front.
That being said, I like 0 toe out back and 1/8" total toe OUT up front for autocross...
I return the toe out up front to 0 toe (or even slightly toed in) for track work - otherwise, long sweepers aren't quite as fun and require constant adjustment...
I also like -2.2 degrees of camber up front and -1.2 to -1.5 out back...

I have -2 deg up front and -1.5 rear. For the track I changed to the softest setting on the rear bar (22mm). With the increased front camber I would go with a 19mm bar instead of the 22mm. Also, this setup is used with 205-40-17 RA1 toyos that were shaved. This provides very good balance with neutral handling.
I'm watching this thread real close. I'm having my Alta 19mm bar and down-links installed on monday and would like to find the optimal alignment set-up for spirited daily driving, and the once a month track day.
Is there a good write-up that lists the stock alignment settings and the effect of changes?

im pretty much with Txwerks. After getting the car Squared. aka. 1.7 camber (thats all i could coax out of the fronts) and 0 toe All the way around. My final settings for Street / track usage where i didnt feel like changing back an forth are:
Front: 1.7 camber, 5.3 Caster with 0 Toe
Rear : 1.5 Camber with 1/8 Toe in , 22mm sway (two hole version) set at hard with end link set at 1/8" below level when car is at rest.
