left side looks ok, but the right side looks a bit iffy...at least to me. I was told that once they mushroom they need to be either whacked back down [being careful not to damage anything else] or cut off the car and reshaped [very involved and costly].

the M& strut tower reinforcement plates have worked well on both my MINIs, but they are not a solve-all solution. they do, however, give me some peace of mind for the times when I manage to hit unseen bumps and potholes...like at night or in downpours..

I don't understand this mushrooming. Is there somewhere I can go and read up on this?

I am always curious to learn about things I dont know about.

What is it, what causes it, how do you correct it????

exbumblebee 03, it looks to be minor; are the guide supports ok?

namvet66, use the search function for a couple of hours reading and look here also http://www.mini2.com/forum/wheels-ty...shrooming.html ; the fix is not as violent as it seems, those are more a firm tap than a pull back and strike hard.
