FSD Install Instructions?

I just received my FSD's and will probably install them this weekend. My question is, does anyone have an instruction sheet for the install? The pictograms that came with the shocks are not very MINI oriented. I am looking for who a decent account of how to do the install.

I can probably figure it out on my own, but just want to know what I am getting into before I start.

Thanks,
Mike

It is a bit tricky. I had a MINI suspension expert, Matt install the FSDs at Central Coast Coopers in Oxnard, CA.

I have install instructions. Email me your address, and I will email back a PDF attachment.

BTW, if anyone knows how I can post a large PDF (fileserve or something) let me know. I'd like to leave this document as a sticky for all to read!

How large is the PDF? I don't remember the maximum size, but the NAM gallery will accept a PDF of at least several megabytes.

If NAM won't let you, PM me and I can throw it up on one of my servers. Ample space and bandwidth (and it gets me the file, too!)

My FSDs' came with diagrams. They are fine. Just take off everything from the old struts and put them on the FSDs.

Throw away the little plastic discs with the cut out. You won't need that.

Thanks folks, I will send it to 'abuzavi' to post on his server, as it is too big for NAM to handle (lots of pictures!).

For those that emailed a request, I should get to those tonight... the PDF is on my home machine.

ciao

Yep. Clickie-clickie!

(yes, the server is set to block hot linking, so yes, you have to go to the page and then click on the file)

Fantastic work on hosting it guys, but DAMN thats massive!!!

I've PDF'd it, so you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view it (as with most installation guides), but its also reduced the file size from 5.5 mb zipped to 1.4mb, with no loss of quality, and its a lot more compatible. I'd reccomend everyone to use this version of it instead . Its hosted on my webserver, where it'll stay forever.

Enjoy guys .

Bumping Install Instructions for Koni FSD's

Hi Folks,

It's been a while, but it seems like a lot of people are installing Koni FSD's, so I thought I'd bump this thread where we have an install file hiding... I wrote it, and after many thousands of miles my Koni's are still running great with no problems.

Just remember to reinstall all the brake fittings back onto the shock bodies! I forgot (for a second) and was able to save it without damage.

ciao!

I got some good use out of your writeup. I installed the FSDs in early December last year using H-Sport springs. Just this past weekend, I removed the H-Sports and intalled the stock springs. Now I have to remove the fronts again so I can massage the inner strut towers for more negative camber. I can only get about 1.4 degrees negative before hitting the strut tower with the spring.

I will take it to have it aligned later this week.

Thanks for the info!

Mike
