I had my FSD's and h-sport springs installed today. Initial impression... honestly I can't tell much of a difference.

What shocks and springs were you running before the FSD / H-sport install?

Did you have the JCW suspension?

I went from H-sport / OE shocks to H-sport / FSDs. These are my before and after ratings over various road surfaces and turns. (1 is bad, 10 is the best):

I went from H-sport / OE shocks to H-sport / FSDs. These are my before and after ratings over various road surfaces and turns. (1 is bad, 10 is the best)The first number is with OE shocks, The second number is with FSDs:

1. Smooth straight roads 7 8
2. Rough straight roads 5 7
3. Smooth sweeping curves 7 8
4. Rough sweeping curves 5 7
5. Expansion joints 3 6
6. Stability on acceleration from stop 5 8
7. Pot Holes 3 6

Overall I noticed a very significant change.

Would it make sense on a car that's tracked to use Koni Yellows in the front and the FSD's in the rear (along with aftermarket springs)? That way you'd have adjustability, but you could leave well enough alone in the back (as you wouldn't have to drill extra holes there, and it's hard to get at the Yellows in the rear to adjust them anyway). If this set-up is feasible, which springs would work well with it?

I have the convertible so it didn't come with the JCW suspension. I can't say I notice the same difference as you, although I have only driven home from the installer but it was a 2 hour drive. I still feel the same bumps as before.

I think you'll probably feel more of a difference if you change to the FSDs after quite a few miles on the stock shocks and HSports. I plan on spending my money in other areas until about 30k-40k miles. . .
my list seems to be growing though. . .

Actually, I think the reason why you cannot tell the different because you never try the stock shocks + HSport springs combo; now you feel the FSD shocks + HSport springs are similar to stock which means it does has a differnet.

He is referring to idoc, who noticed little change in the ride after changing from stock shocks and springs, to FSDs and H-Sports at the same time. He is saying that the H-Sports by themselves would have caused a harsher ride, but if the ride remained the same then it must have been the effect of the FSDs.

I'm thinking about moving from my standard suspension on my 2006 Works (SS+), to FSDs with Eibach lowering springs.

Even with the Eibachs, will I still notice a considerably softer and more comfortable ride over rough roads/potholes etc. (not crashing/jarring like it is now!), and also better handling/less bodyroll when cornering/changing direction etc.?!

I want a softer/more comfortable ride, better handling/stability, and better looks (lowered). Will I get this with the FSDs/Eibachs combo?

The answer may lie in that your cabrio is carrying around extra weight (~175lbs) and your drop could be negating the effects of the FSDs. Check the Cabrio forum and you will see at least one person that noticed greater than a 1" drop with the hsports on a cab. Too much for the FSDs to work effectively I hear. You might get better results with the taller H&R lowering springs and FSDs on your cabrio, but no one has yet posted those results.

Just to report that, after driving my Mini S with the FSD/HSport combo for more than a month, I can tell you all it is so great! The car is still bumpy on tough road (tough road means tons of pot holes in Montreal) but not harsh at all! it definately improve the ride a lot! Highly recommand.

It drops approximately 2/3 inche. I remember the tech told me if I want the car to be lower, he can simply used the stock bump stock and cut it in half... But I end up use the bump stop which came with the HSport springs, and it drops almost 2/3 inche, it is not an aggressive drop, but for sure it is lower than stock, and I find the car is much more enjoyable to drive now.
