Aftermarket Struts: Any option other than Koni?

I'm looking to make the most of STS classing this season, and have been scouring for options that can use my H-Sport springs. So far, it seems only the Koni Yellows are available, but they only offer rebound control. I'd like to have 2-way adjustable shocks (since that's allowed in Stock as well, in case I revert), and really don't want to invest in coil-overs.

I know it seems silly to want that level of control without shelling out the cash for a complete system, but I find it absurd that there's only one company making direct replacement shocks for our cars.

So how 'bout it: has anybody found shocks that allow compression AND rebound control for stock or aftermarket springs?

Nothing stock. You can order custom stuff from Leda and others.

why do you find it funny that only Koni makes repacements... the stock shocks are pretty good and most people don't care about adjustable shocks.

Besides you don't want Tokico's anyway.

I just think it's odd that only one company in the whole wide world of auto parts thought to make direct replacement shocks for the Cooper.

You could always go the coil-over route. Quite a few manufacturers are playing that game.

Right, I could, but I'd prefer not to, if possible. I'm trying to save money for a big project right now...

I'm just stunned that this one part of the car -- and it's a biggie from the suspension perspective -- gets such short schrift from the AM world.

You can go to any auto-parts store and buy any number of replacement shocks for any number of domestic (and even some foreign) cars.

Competition drives innovation, right?

If you want DA shocks, get SA off the shelf Konis and have them converted to double adjustables. A number of places around the country will do the conversion for you including Koni NA in Kentucky and Truechoice here in Ohio. That's what a number of Stock class autocrossers have done, its really quite common in the Solo world for a variety of cars. While you're at it you can get them custom valved to match your springs, not just have an off the shelf valving.

That's what I was looking for. I didn't realize they could be tweaked like that.

Thanks!

i don't know who told you the only option out there was Koni, but i plan on getting Bilsteins when my warranty runs out. just trying to figure out whether to go with the kit Promini sells (4 struts and 4 H&R springs) or H-Sport springs over Bilsteins.

He wants double adjustable, the complaint is a little misleading.

That's not quite fair: I scoured the forums looking for any other option than Koni, and couldn't find any. I went to all the usual suspect vendors (helix, m7, webb, dt, Mania, Madness, Tuner, Moss, OutMotoring, etc), and nobody had any other offerings.

True, I do want double-adjustable, but I couldn't find anything else at all. I thought I was losing my mind, because I was sure I'd heard of other options in the past.
