alignment question ... >>

I am planning on having the JCW suspension put on my car soon.

The car has only 500 miles on it.

Is an alignment recommended?

The dealer installing it suggests to wait and see if it will need one.

As far as I know it is advisable to have the alignment done when changing out the suspension. When I had the Dinan suspension put on a BMW the alignment was included as part of the process.

Wait until... the tires wear out prematurely?

I would tend to agree... I believe the JCW kit lowers the car, and as such, toe and camber will change.

Thats what I thought but the service department is leaving it up to me!

Strange ... you would think that they would know what to do and make the best recommendation based upon experience.

I will have to demand that they do the alignment.

Thanks for the input.

I had the JCW suspension installed before taking delivery of the car. An alignment was part of the install process.

Get the dealership to throw it in for no extra charge. You are paying a premium to keep your warranty by doing the JCW package over better designed and functioning aftermarket kits (Bilstein, H&R, KW, Koni FSDs, etc). Make up for it by saving the $$ on the alignment. They should include it if they are a stand-up type establishment

The installation cost should include the cost of the alignment.
