Rear toe help

/don't grill me, I've tried using the search function but nothing useful turn up.

I've read thru what the search turned up, rear negative camber may cause more understeer but what about toe? I am about to buy the camber arms just need to make sure do I need to buy 2 pairs to adjust both camber or toe or is camber adjustment is all I need?

Also I've read is that when changing camber, toe might be changed as well..help, I am a suspension newbie

Thanks

Toe can be changed without buying aftermarket arms - they just make the process a little easier.

ive had my rear toe adjusted and i only have adj. lower arms. there are three bolts a little north of the arms that are loosened in order to change the toe.

The big question - is it worthwhile?

I run the autocross alignment all year on my mini. I have 1/8" toe out in front and 0 toe in back. My mini turns unbelievably quickly (the pro) but is very twitchy at highway speeds (the con). Just don't sneeze on the highway because you may end up 3 lanes over.

You can actually play some very interesting games with toe and camber alone, sans all other mods.

I believe rear toe has a much greater affect on high speed stability than the front. So, if you want that extra little bite and enhanced turn-in from a little toe out up front, but do not want stability problems as Veni Vidi Vici noted, add 1/8" toe in at the rear. Now, playing with toe and camber is a lot like trying to get four camera lenses in focus; there will be an ideal camber/toe setting front and rear for what ever other suspension mods you have.

Try for very spirited highway:

1.5 degrees neg camber up front + 1/8" toe out
1 degree neg camber out back and 1/8" toe in

If this is still a bit too twitchy on the highway, add a little more negative camber out back. I wouldn't venture much beyond 1/8" toe in out back, however.

Ditto, except about .25 up front and 0 out back... -2.2 camber front and -1.2 camber rear. Seems to turn in quick, but yet still very stable at speed...
