Installed: Ireland Eng. Fixed Front Camber

I got the ones that make the front have 1.5° negative. So after about 2 days I realize how boring city streets are and how little the opportunities are to take corners fast. But by now I have a good idea on how the car performs better, it's apparent immediately though. It took me some driving to actually readjust to the improved response of the front end! The car leans more because of all the extra traction the front end is able to hold and the suspension absorbs, it's a pretty cool change to feel. The steering is improved all throughout greatly in general. The turn in is better and especially the post apex reduction of understeer. A great mod, highly recommend it to anybody. I did this before the sway bar because I think the sway bar is somewhat of a bandaid to the understeer issue if the alignment is not proper to begin with. New tires and rear sway bar are next.

That's good news! Thanks for posting the info.
I've ordered the adjustable plates from them... be here in a week or so.

I know performance is foremost, but How's the fit and finish?

I took it to my local mechanic and he had it swapped in about an hour. I was watching him half the time and he didn't seem to have much problem swapping everything since he has all the fancy tools for any job that comes your way. Apparently I have bottomed out hardcore in the past because the metal frame area which the whole shock/plate assembly hooks up to on top was pushed up and out on the passenger side, but they bended that back in place, although I know that area is now forever stretched and skewed somewhat. Regardless, the installation went smoothly. The finish of the parts.. well it looked like a perfectly made product, can't think of anything that was wrong with them.

Oh, I just remembered, if I wasn't getting new tires this weekend, I would have gotten an alignment on my car after the install since it has gone slightly off. I haven't gotten an alignment for the past 40k miles and it wasn't perfect in the past year anyway, so this may not apply to you.

great

glad to hear.. 1.5 neg is a nice compromise for street and track..

Did the allignment process go fine, and were you able to get equal neg camber in the front seeing that it is fixed strut bushing?

I am curious to know more about this product.
Will it give -1.5 camber even if the car is lowered? or does that only apply to stock height cars?

camber

ireland said it would be more neg. in a lowered car. they claim the plates to be set at 1.25 deg. neg. camber at stock height plus whatever the car comes set at.

so it just adds a fixed amount of camber to each side?

Thanks.

I haven't aligned the car yet. Once I get the new tires mounted that should be at my door this afternoon, I will perform a full alignment and hopefully the left and right don't have too great of a difference.

Since I bought the fixed plates well over a month ago and have been waiting to make time to take it into the shop, IE has come out with the adjustable plates for only $50 more. I would say that's a great price if you think you may ever change it for different situations. I'm not too sure if I would even change mine once its set, if I had the ability to that is, so it's all up to what fits your needs.
