the setup now is very mild......softest setting......can't go any lower on the back / front or my tire will rub the outer fender or shocks as my tires are 1 size thicker that what it shud be.......
the ride is alot better now.......won't hop as much......less bumby......but turn in response is less sensitive and the tail is more happy than before ...(still in run-in period)
i'll re-tune the setup after a week of run-in and post more comment.
mike.

SMG,
Did you need any spacers?
I know some people with the Variant I's reported that they needed spacers on the front to get clearance to the strut on even the stock 17's (are you running 18's?). I didn't understand why until just a couple days ago when looking at the stock struts, Randy and I noticed that the stock struts have little indentations in them so they aren't totally circular.
I'll also post some of the pics out of the imagestation album. Looks great! (both the drop and the pics - lighting/location)

tks. for posting the pics for me dave......tks tks.
the front strut is really a problem for me now as i can't put any spacers with my 17x8 wheels ...... it'll rub my inner fender for sure.
i'll keep it this way until the end of the week and i may ask the garage to remove the "assist spring" so that i can lower the car a bit more without my tire having any contact with the strut.....
the current front setup will leave about 3mm space between the tire & the strut and i hadn't find any problems.
i think my next set of tires will be some shitty 215/40/17 tire and no more R compound for me

SMG:
I sympathize with you over the tire rub issue. I'm getting the H&R Coilovers so I'm hoping that one the car is lowered a little more, I'll be able to run 215/45 R16 tires on my stock wheels without rubbing or spacers.

just went to the gas station to put more pressure on my tires tonite.........and found out that my rear left tire only left with 15 psi or so coz there's a big screw stuck into it and lost half of the pressure.......then i took my car to the garage and fix it and now all 4 tires running 33psi and the tail is not happy anymore.....very predictable & stable.
that screw is almost 1.5 inch long..........lucky me went to put more pressure on the tyres tonite or i'll never notice it.

Went to take off the "assistant springs" on my front struts this afternoon and the car looks / handles even better than before. The front drops about another inch and i'll post some updated pics.
Front is set to softest now and rear is set to the middle......understeer problem is greatly improved......

Just an FYI so u know, those helper springs are there to keep the main spring in place and tensioned during full expansion. If your front ever reaches full expansion or close to it, u may hear a spring popping sound as the front main spring was temporarily separated from the upper mount and popped back in place. Not good when racing or during performance driving, but not harmful.
