They are available.......i just check the US inventory and all the warehouses are stocked.

There are roughly 80 on backorder for the US which might soak up the majority of the inventory........Dont worry.....Germany's warehouse shows 424 pieces.

The inventory has been in the US for months. The issue isn't the inventory being here in the US or the backorders, it's been getting BMW to approve the part in the US and to get them from a Mini dealer. We all know about the part being available in Canada, in Europe etc. Hence, the reason I pulled my order with BMW and bought it from a supplier in the UK.

This is what I hate - there have been countless threads on the subject. Do your homework before you make comment.

It is interesting how you write your email.

We're the customer and let's look at the facts:

1) Customers have had orders place for at least 6-9 months.
2) The attitude has been the strut bar is coming and you will get it soon.
3) A month goes by. They're coming. Another month goes by. They're
coming.
4) We go to the dealers and they say, they're in the distribution center.
This was the answer more than 4 months ago.
5) Waiting for them to get approved.
6) We ask the dealer again. When will the bars be in and finally they say,
after months of run around. "I have no idea"
7) The problem is all dealers around the country are saying this.
8) Next, you go on google and can pick one up on eBay and have it in under
a week.
9) As someone has written to you in the thread, if you are a dealer, you
need to provide us with concrete facts and service, not the customer
doing all the ground work. If we do all the work - what do you bring to
the table? nothing.

Then we read your email and you say they're in the warehouse and they weren't there the week before. Then, what were the dealers looking at, that said they were in the distribution for the past 4 months.

The fact is, you can't tell us when we can get a one from a US dealer. As a customer, who has been given a 6 month run around, do you think we're happy? Don't tell us we're rude when you still don't have any answers for those who want a strut bar from a US Mini dealer. If you can give us an arrival date next week, then great. We'll all say "thank you". If not we've heard it every month - "the bars are coming".

What is your relationship with BMW/Mini?

If you are a dealer and you can get the bars as you say, you have a captive 80+ people on the the backorder list. Would help you sell the bars as today if I wanted to buy one I couldn't in California.

I have 4 on the way from what the Manager at NA told me . There sending them out slow to certain dealers with problem customers who already paid for them in advance. Tell your source to call NA and do the same.

JCW Strut Bar - Pics

I finally got time to post the pics of the JCW strut bar on the car. It definitely looks sweet.

I'm glad I bought it from Europe as it is on the car vs. still waiting.

Available in Canada?

I wonder how much they cost in Canada, that's where I live and today I checked the price for an outdoor car cover and the dealer told me $511.50 plus 7% tax.
I don't think I'll ask how much the strut bar is, must be over $1k

OK whats your price? Classic has them now for $250. Are you matching that with no shipping?

Will this fit standard Cooper

I know that all the documentation states that the JCW strut brace is for Cooper S. Does anyone know if it will fit the Cooper? From my understanding it has to do with the battery box. If anyone knows if it fits or not please let me know.

I know there are other brands available that will fit but I recently had the JCW suspension installed and would like JCW all around.

Thanks

It's official, they're definitely available. Besides from the news on MotoringFile (Link to news item - JCW Strut Brace Released in the US), I just got the call from my dealership this afternoon... they have my JCW strut brace, in and waiting for me, and very clearly labelled so nobody else gets it.

Apparently I was the first one to order it, on March 4. I had a feeling I was, too.

Only problem is, the earliest appointment they have given me (combined with a 10,000 mile service, OEM alarm install and tire rotation) is October 3!

Nah, I'd rather have them do it. My SA has been good in the past about combining labor costs on one visit, so I don't think I'll get ripped off in that area. Not to mention that there's a certain satisfaction to having them handle it - takes away the excuses if I ever have any suspension problems.

I'm just hoping they find a way to squeeze me in sooner. My post, however, was primarily intended to confirm the news, first-hand. My dealer wouldn't call me to say "it's here" unless it was. It's the next best thing to holding it in my hands.

Classic has them in stock, they said they came in today. I was calling to order the parcel shelf and asked about the brace... so I had them ship the brace too. Two lumps don't hurt any more than one

Now that Classic has a bunch of these, along with other dealers, I finally got it installed today. Pics below.
