Suspension Help! Rear Sway Bar Install!!!
Help! Rear Sway Bar Install!!!
I am in the middle (literally) installing my H Sport Rear Sway bar. I have removed the 4 sub frame bolts but the sub frame won't drop!
I have a 2005 MCSC. It looks like there an additional subframe bolt dead center of the axle just behind the exhaust system. Could this be? Have I just missed something obvious? I removed the bolt of the sub frame that is just below the gas cap (and on the opposite side), the one just behind the suspension connected to the under side (on both sides) and I remove the bolts connecting the spring structure to the chassis.
If that dead center bolt is the issue - how do I get to it? It looks like everything has come out out to reach it - heatsheild, exhaust system,...everything!
Any ideas? Any help appreciated!

You are not wrong - the convertible does have that bolt.
You can get at it by moving the heat shield without removing the exhaust. Use a long extension and a swivel socket - it's a 16mm.
Hope that helps!

Thanks! That was it. I got the bolt off. It turns out that there is a bracket in the center as well that makes installing the sway bar rather tricky. I ended up loosening the gas tank braces to get enough room to wiggle around the bracket.
That sort of made the job a lot more more difficult (or interesting)
