I've got an Alta CAI on my 04 S, it has the Alta "box" that goes around the intake to seal it off from the rest of the engine bay. I'd like to add a front strut bar brace- does anyone know of a bar that will work with this set up? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

 

Why do you think you need a strut bar? The front end of a MINI is pretty stiff already.

To clear the intake box you'd need a bar that sits rather high and still is thin enough not to scrape the inner bonnet lining.

You can just notch the intake shield. Most bars clear the filter.

 

The notch will work. Then you have a variety of choices-

Notch cut into Maddness intake box. BMP strut bar.
