I'm looking into getting some SS+ parts for my MC with SS. It's a 2005 with moonroof and AT. So far I have a rear sway and looking to get springs from an MCS.

My basic question, is there any way that this will be bad for the car? Or anyway the handling of the car will decrease? I'm not sure what kind of MCS i will be getting springs from.

Also, it seems that the front sway and the struts are also different between the SS plus and SS, this may be a real dumb question, but what exactly are the struts? what do they do? will it greatly improve my MC to get MCS struts?

If you're interested, I have an original set of 2005 MCS SS+ struts & springs that I am willing to part with. They only have 18 miles on them - I had the JCW Sport Suspension system installed on my new MCS before I took delivery of the car.

I'm not sure EXACTLY what parts are involved (they are sealed back up in the box that the JCW stuff came in), but I'll be happy to inventory them when I return... from overseas (I'm on vacation).

Anyway, since my MCS is the same model year as your MC, I figure they are probably what you are looking for. As for the price, I have no idea what they are worth new, so once we determine that, we can probably agree on an (adjusted) price.

 

Well, I was able to find some springs. They are from an 03 cooper S with all three packages and no NAV. I'm really looking forward to puttting these in, but I do need some help regarding my concerns about the struts.
