Problems "losing" alignment

A while ago i noticed that my front passenger side tire was wearing a bit unevenly and my steering wheels was wiggling occasionally. The problem was obviously alignment. So i took it up to a local shop and just had them set the front alignment to stock. It was a short process, and i just wanted them to check everything out. They said it was all cool, and i was on my way. The car felt great, and so i drive back to school ( a two hour commute). Now after about a month or a little more, my alignment is way off again on that front passenger wheel. I didnt hit anything major, and avoided as many potholes as possible. I havent tracked it or driven it that hard. Maybe im wrong, but i didnt think i should be able to "lose" my alignment so quickly.

Can anyone shed some light on this confusion?

It may be as simple as wheel nuts went loose.

Ball joint(s)? Tie rods? Steering rack bushings? Bad damper?

Those were my thoughts as well....i am installing new dampers so plan on checking all of that when im in there, i was just wondering if maybe it was a common problem among cars or even among minis.

Hey, jlm has mentioned that he's experienced premature wear on the lower outer ball-joints, twice. That would cause this kind of wear probably.
