Suspension Randy Webb, what a guy!
Randy Webb, what a guy!
It is indeed rare today that an owner takes the time, and lots of it, to run thru components and suggestions tailored to individual needs. We spoke about bars, about brakes, about springs, about dampers and engines, and funny, about what he wouldn't do.
Randy did not try to sell me anything...ssshhhh, but I am buying. Intelligent, well informed folks sell without trying.
Thanks Randy!

Michael

I couldn't agree more! He's the only one I call for parts and tech support. I heard him talk someone out of costly parts that he didn't think they really needed. Some venders would have jumped on the sale without a care for the owners real needs. I trust him completely.
I'll join the love fest!
Ditto to everything mentioned above.
I also really like the fact that he track tests products. While the vast majority of us willl probably not punish our MINI's with track miles, he does this also for the MINI's that will only see public roads. As he shared with me recently, the track has a way of speeding-up what happens on the streets...
So when he recommends something, or doesn't recommend something, I put credence in it; and base my decisions accordingly.
I'd like to add that Peter of M7 also has talked me out of mods, and has spent tons of time chatting with me about options. Great guy also.
Since this is the suspension forum, and about Randy, I'll conclude with just that. The man is getting me hooked-up with the Leda coilovers and his new front camber plates when he returns for his 4th Bay Area Pulley Party in a couple more weeks. I can't wait! It seems not so long ago that I organized the first one here...

Excellent memory jlm! I had some rather unique issues with my set-up that had me go into a holding pattern of sorts. After some extensive research, and with changes made, I should be ready to rock 'n roll on the weekend of the 19th!

Randy did my pulley a few months ago. The care he put in aligning the
pulley and torquing the screws while using the mitutoyo was very
comforting. He is definitely as careful doing work on people's cars as
we are doing our own. he's a true professional.

OK...how much is Randy paying you guys to say this stuff?? (just kidding) No doubt he's one of the best. Dealing with him can definately enhance MINI ownership. He's already sucked about $2K out of my pocket book. My only gripe is that the upgrades you get for $2K are what MINI should have done in the first place!!
Oh yeah... they did. It's a $5K JCW kit. sorry.

These days, there is more money in car parts/mechanic business
than in the flying business. I'm sure Randy would agree that driving
a Mini on the race track at 110 percent is equal to flying upside
down doing an outside loop pulling 5 or 6 negitive G's in a Pitts Special with
450 hp.
or maybe not!

Actually, the car could be covered with the names of all contributing - $10.00 a letter, that type of thing. My name would cost me $120.00. Get 40-50 names and you're set.
Might be a nice graphic too...depending upon how it's done.

Someone just pointed me here! Thank you guys so much - it really does mean a lot to me to these kind of positive posts!!!
I love the car, and it brought me to a great community of owners, and a whole new life. I never would have seen myself here 5 years ago if you had asked, and it is because of my customers - you guys!!
I look forward to continuing to help you supply your habit (I do feel a bit like a drug dealer) and I truly appreciate the support!!!!
