I just had my pulley installed by Randy yesterday at the Bay Area party.......very happy
. Have to say this guy really knows his stuff and I am glad he did the install.........the comedy was a plus. Oh that testdrive with Randy after the pulley was installed...........well you just have to wait and see
I would highly recommend his work to anyone.

(I love SNL)Second, I have to say that I attended yesterday's pulley party in Oakland, not to have any mods, but to meet the legendary Randy, and check out some of the mods. Sadly, I did not take him up on his offer of a 3:30 slot today, but when I DO go with the pulley, it will be from him. He's got a great sense of humor, he likes girls (SEMA photo album, anyone?), and he turns a wrench like nobody's business!! It's great to watch a professional work, and he is definitely one of those.
Nice recommendations
I will be taking delivery of my MCS in a few weeks. I'm extremely happy to know that there is someone locally who can offer a objective opinion on potential upgrades. I have already learned a bit via the FAQ on the Webb site.
Cheers from Denver!

He will be putting WEBBMOTORSPORTS name on the line with an 05 MCS entry, he will be driving at least half of the events, more if we are winning
The car's OFFICIAL track number is : 37 (Yes, the Famous number of the MINI that WON the 64 Monte Carlo Rallye)
The cost of the entry fee alone is $2,100, tires $1,000, upgrades to the car total around $4,000
Give Randy a call or e-mail if you want to help out or some advertising on the side or Back of our car

Webb Motorsports Commitment
I just wanted to give you an example of Randy's commitment to his customers. I have the pleasure of being able to help Randy at his shop on my day off and in the evenings. I am a Mini enthusiast, on my fourth Mini S and a former SCCA racer and mechanic. I am not on the payroll I just enjoy working with Randy on Minis. Randy had been working day and night (past 02:00am) for about a week trying to finish a car for a customer in Mexico City. Parts did not arrive until the last minute and some of the parts did not fit up to Randy's standards so he spent extra time making them right. It came down to the last day when the car needed to be delivered. The car was finished and washed for its trip at 07:00pm. Randy left imediately to meet up with with the customer's relatives in TX. He only stopped and slept about 4 hours on the way. He flew back the next day and was up until 02:00 am again loading the trailer for the Mini meet in Vegas. He left that morning about 08:00am and drove to Vegas. He was then up till about 02:00am for the next couple of days doing pulley installs and helping as many Mini customers as possible. After returning from Vegas this senario (several nights up past midnight) was repeated again preparing a car for a customer from Montana. At Webb Motorsports the customer is the most important part of the business and Randy strives to provide the best quality parts and service. I think everyone owes Randy a Big Thanks for the commitment he has put into the Mini community that has benefited both Mini owners and vendors of all Mini products.
disclaimer: this post has no particular relevance to Randy Webb, but begs the question:
If a thread can be started to post positives about a vendor, what about a thread containing negatives? or do the negatives get banned?

Do you have any issues with me?
I think the moderation team tries to keep everything in check. If there is no pertinent information in a post, then it probably shouldn't be there. If there is, then it should stay.
In other words, just posting to throw a wrench into things shouldn't be tolerated, but if there is a legitimate issue, by all means it should be allowed. Moderation is certainly a fine line.
I know there haven't been too many punches pulled due to moderation in the past - even some that had absolutely no bearing on the posted topic.
Just my two cents though - I am in no way associated with the moderation team on NAM other than knowing a couple of the folks.

I returned your call, and sent you a PM. Shoot me your number again, and I can call you straight away.
My biggest problem is availability. I have hired two guys to help with that, but calls still slip through sometimes. I spend most of my days on the phone, so be patient in trying to get a hold of me - once you do, I will surely give you all of my attention!
Thanks,
Randy

Randy was travelling the last few days to and from Providence for Pulley Party. My guess is that you should have communication from WMS sometime in the next day or so.
During the relatively short time I was at the pulley part I know i heard a few queries, including one from me as to delays in response, getting in touch with him, etc... and he's aware of the issue and trying to improve, but it seems pretty much catch as catch can which is why i chose to drive 3 hours or so roundtrip to the pulley party. I knew i could get most of my questions answered and pick up a set of camber plates without delays plus places faces with a few of the New England NAM posters.
Apparently there are a couple of people helping him but even with that the call volume is outstripping the time they have to address all the questions, order issues, etc... and my guess is that one late or non-returned call/e-mail generates at least 3 more from the same person, so its sort of a vicious cycle at the moment.
As a side note Randy was as advertised; very competent, a wealth of MINI knowledge, straightforward, good sense of humor, and pretty good at playing name the artist on the local rock n roll radio station. This probably doesn't ease your frustration any with the lack of response... but once you meet him you understand why he's well liked in the Mini community and why people seem pretty understanding (probably more so than me) about gaps in communication.
