Feal suspension... why not?

New mini owner and new member.

I come from the wrx AWD world so am now researching all the possibilities of making my mini better.

Looking at coilover options I see the most common asked about are:
Jcw pro
KW v1, v2
Bilstein
BC (not a fan personally)

But cant find a single mention of Feal 441, 441+, or 442

They have a pretty good rep in WRX, EVO, and BRZ communities.

Why not for mini's?

Anyone have opinions on Feal?

Here is a link

Feal has only ever made 2 sets of coilovers for the F56. I am the owner of set #2.

I have their 441+ with basically all the upgrades go can throw at it. The 442> is overkill for daily use.

keep in mind the entire kit is custom made for your car. That said, they will feel however you want them to feel. I went with a slightly softer damping setup with 5k/4K swift springs. The combination has been amazing thus far. When you dial in the stiffness with the adjusters. The car comes alive. When you dial it back for comfort, the most noticeable difference is the feel of standard springs vs progressive springs.

Their customer service is also unmatched!

Thank you for the response. What other suspension mods have you made?
I have been eyeing feal for some time, your response mirrors what the wrx community has said.
maybe I'll be #3.

Basically all the off the shelf bits you can think of. Strut bar, rear sway bars, end links and the coilovers obviously.

Only thing not touched is the front sway bar and that’s because there’s not much to be gained there as these cars are pretty stiff up front to begin with and the front sway bar is a massive PITA to get to.

Very nice ride.
Assuming your roads are not the smoothest seeing your license plate. The 441s handle the broken pavement, potholes, etc. In stride?

what size wheels and tires are you running?

They handle them about as well as you can expect coilovers with linear springs to handle bad roads. I had them valved much softer than usual specifically for this purpose.

My wheel setup is 5x112 Neuspeed Wheels 17x7.5 +40 (3mm spacer rear) and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ 225/45/17.

The extra tire height has 100% helped with the crappy roads.
