sorry about not getting back but njaremka no it is NOT my car, its a guy name Duck who owns it and he's on a different forum. I wasn't sure if we're allowed to post links to ANOTHER forum so I didn't. He has a build thread for his car and tells all about his car. He is proof that you can do a wide wheeled handling monster that's properly stanced, but theres plenty others out there tracking their cars with 17x9's on all 4 corners. I like the look but personally think going past 8.5" width is overkill but see others on this forum have been discussing his wheel set up on NAM too.

You’re right! Thanks for catching that they're 225/45/17, 275s would be sticking out of the wheel well and rubbing on the coilovers lol.

Theres a better shot for ya! I brought the back up a bit and waiting on rear control arms bring camber back down to -2.

Hey guys, I am new to MINI. I just bought mine (an '07 Cooper S (R56)) two days ago and have been a giant sponge over the last two days. I see A LOT of interesting pics across the web. I am not new to the mod game (have a 93.5 Supra MKIV turbo 6 speed single turbo'd and a 2000 SC300 swapped w/ a 2J 6 speed as well). I want to get this Mini sorted quick (suspension and wheels first) and wondered if you guys had any suggestions on coilovers ($800-1100 range) and wheel specs. I'm looking to run 18's. Thx!

Whats your overall intentions with the car? Corner-carving/Auto-X/Track ....Or are you looking to just slam it and stance the crap out of it and cruise, or a mix of the 2?

just a nice stance with a slightly aggressive wheel option. My daily commute is about 64 miles and has some areas of traffic that the Cooper slices nicely through, but, could be a bit stiffer IMO.

Examples:
Pretty much exactly like this pic: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...-995319163.jpg

or like this. But more the above pic than this one:

The bc racing BR series are decent adjustable coilovers with camber plates for your price range but they’re really stiff. If you want a smoother ride go with koni yellows and some hr springs.

You’ll have have a tough time stuffing 18s under there depending on your back spacing and if you decide to lower it at all.
