Stanced Mini Cooper 2012

Hey guys, new here, need help, I've got a 2012 Mini Cooper s, and I want to stance it. Can I get some help on what size rims I should get and also I want wide tires, so can some one tell me what size tires to get or if there's a website I can use that sells wide tires.

The front is lowered an inch and the rear almost 2 inches.
As of right now I've got -2.8 camber in the back and -1.8 in the front but I'm going to bring the back up about a 1/2 in. do you want it to handle or look like a flying saucer going down the road? It's all about preference and what you're after will dictate what you should do.

[QUOTE=tman;4331791]I like it, I need to lower my rear to get that look

Thanks! I like to have them level though so I'll be bringing the back up about a 1/2" and most likely the front down about 1/4". They're extremely easy to adjust!
They also come with front camber plates and new upper mounts all around. The Install literally took me about 2 1/2 hours by myself with hand tools and probably would have been half that with a buddy's help.
I've had them installed for about 5 months doing 2-300 mi a day for work and they're holding up great even after throwing the car around some twisties on more than a few occasions.
Not trying to push a product but these things have really impressed me for a mid range coilover!

Yep, that's pretty aggressive and on air most of the time to get that low. Get Coilovers that have an adjustable body and you can go lower than most coilovers.

Most people want lower but for DD they dont really slam it, they just drop it 1-2" and keep the ride quality the same, most of the time its better as you can adjust the dampening.

Thanks man, used to be into really slammed VW's and this setup is totally functional... at this height with the tires and wheels I can still throw it around in the corners and beat the living hell out of it and it never rubs... had the wheels re-drilled to 4x100 so I didn't need to run adapters, the original offsets in the front are et26, but had to run a 5mm spacer in the front to clear the calipers.

It's on stock JCW struts with Swift springs, and have a hotchkis adjustable rear sway bar in the back... Not sure on alignment specs, been a while but I have camber plates up front, pretty close to maxed out.

Then you'll most likeley have to get airbags.
And turn yours into an r53
and paint it blue
lol jk
Im serious about the airbags though because if you try to go that low on a coilover setup you'll hate driving it!

Okay

So stretched and better to get the car bagged just because coilovers would be annoying, especially when I come up to bumps. Any tires widths or size suggestions? Like is 235/40R17 good?

what width of wheel you talking?
I know my buddies car ate cv-joints being slammed on coils, so air would give you the best of both worlds, driveabilty/stance you probably want.

Just out of curiosity OP have you driven a lowered car before and what is your final goal? Show car? Track car? Daily driver?
You might want to find a local club or someone on NAM to get in a couple test drives before you commit to it. Don't get me wrong I love the look of lowered cars and going a few inches lower on coilovers is an easy reversal if you dislike it. Airbags on the other hand are a whole nother beast that require heavy suspension modification and installation of electronics and an air compressor that has to live in the trunk.
Food for thought!

Aint no way you got a 275 width tire on your car, that has to be a typo and you meant 215 maybe from how skinny your back tire looks in the first pic?

that pic TVPS posted with the "purposely" bent cambered wheel setup is all for show and def not for handling. I just think MC cars main factor is handling so I like track stanced cars. This set up will out handle an improperly cambered car any day! 17x9's 255 tires

You’re right! Thanks for catching that they're 225/45/17, 275s would be sticking out of the wheel well and rubbing on the coilovers lol.
