Suspension Most drop spring?

The M7 springs give it a nice low profile, with a 1-finger gap (little less in the rear), hope this helps:

I have an approximate 2" drop from my H&R coilovers. I run stock S-lites with the 205 Pirelli runflats. I also had to go the adjustable control arm route to avoid too much camber. I am just on the limit of not rubbing in normal street driving conditions, but during spirited auto-x driving, there is some rubbing when I dial in lots of steering and lots of go pedal. Methinks that 2" of drop coupled with 215 rubber is a recipe for disaster, unless you change your control arms, and modify the wheel wells.

you'll get a box with 4 individually wrapped springs. I removed the shocks and struts myself and had a friend compress and switch the springs around. if you have a spring compressor, you could probably do it if you wanted to.
You'll need some tools, and a spring compressor which (supposidly) you can rent from autozone, etc.

good job on the writeup! very..very..helpful!
My friend and I replaced the springs on his MC and my MCS, his with Alta and mine with M7, we did not use a spring compressor for either car. There is not that much compression on the relaxed struts after you get them out of the car. Just hold the strut down on the ground on a towel, one hit with an air gun and the strut comes apart. Due to the shortened height of the new springs all it takes is a little weight on the top to compress them enough to get the nut back on. My friend weighs well under 200 lbs and couldn't push them down, but when I leaned on it, 250 lbs, it was no sweat.
We measured ride height before and after, the drop was exactly one inch on the MCS with the M7 springs.
After talking with Peter from M7 we cut the bump stops in half.
Have fun.

Ethereal,
That is a good question, read this info and you will get an idea of why the process is recomended.

The bump stop , as it's name implies, is there to keep the springs from bottoming out.
Cutting the bump stop will slightly increase suspension travel but will not lower the car. Only shorter springs will lower the car in this case.

if you are hoping to go low you might want to look at coil overs from Kw or H&R. i have KW v1's on my mini from mini-madness, all coil overs are ride hieght adjustable and are worth it. the struts and springs are perfectly tested and tune for optimium performance.

new JCW kit
doesn't the new JCW suspension kit have lowering springs? And, if so, why don't they have adjustable arms? I would like to have the lowered stance with a new rear sway but add the cost of the control arms and it pushes me out of the price range to do all at once.
ZAKdog, just wanted to let you know that so far the insides of my all season
runflats still show no extra signs of wear using the m7 springs and UUC swaybar w/o lower arms still. I take two 200 mile trips every weekend on a straight freeway too. Must be how hard we run thorugh the twisties
, on the way back. take care

I have an 02 with the Dunlop 5000s and am a little more than halfway through the tread. I can probably make it another 9 months or so depending on how hard I push. I am getting to the conservation point where I save up my spirited sessions instead of every trip
.
I would like the stability increase with the springs and swaybar but am concerned that the extra scrubbing would reduce my tread life by a year and $$$
as it is my daily driver and have other family needs for the extra cash

Already ordered M7 springs and FLIK WASP 17".
Too bad those wheels are out off stock.
Is it a must to do alighment after changing the springs and tires? If so what is the camber should I tell the shop to set it?

I went with the H&R coilovers. They tell you that it's a 1.5 drop, but I have to tell you it's more like 2.5 and I love it. I'm running 18" with 215-35-18 and so far NO RUBING but the camber needs to be adjusted..... So for now I'm just going to bring it up a little.
Tell me what you think.
