Why do I need longer front drop links?

Hey guys!

I need some help with adjustable drop links. I want to install some on both rear and front (MINI is dropped on KW V1), so I took some measurements today.

From my measurements, if I want a neutral position setup aka parallel to the ground, I would need to put shorter drop links in the front:

Swaybar/chassis mounting point: 250mm from the ground.
Swaybar/drop link mounting point: 230mm from the ground.
Difference: 20mm - Therefore, minus 20mm short drop links that both mounting points are at 250mm above the ground.

However, as I am reading NAM and Vendor homepages, all seem to recommend longer drop links for the front!?

Anybody cares to explain?

Thank you!

It really depends on the coilover, the mounting point for the swaybar on the coilover will be wherever that company decided to put it. On cars that are lowered with the stock shocks, you normally would need longer front endlinks.

But on coilovers, it can be different, that's why a lot of coilovers will come with it's own set of endlinks, since they aren't going to be compatible with factory ones.
