Stock suspension bits and upgrades

This past Sunday at Thill I missed the final session of the day because my wife found part of a suspension bushing under the car after the previous session. I have not had time to investigate yet, my guess is the upper arm bushing near the right rear wheel. Thill is mostly right turns and I noticed some handling changes in the 5th session in hard rights.

Many of us upgrade some parts and expect the remaining stock parts to hold up, but they might not.

My car is a Mini S, H&R springs, Konis, H-sport front and rear sway bars, H-sport lower rear arms, MX tires 215/40 on 17inch wheels.

Who else has had these sorts of problems after adding performance suspension parts? I'm wondering what else to do now for the car to hold up well on the track. Replace the stock bushings with urethane units. Anything else that might break at a track day?

It has been reported that the stock rear swaybar links have been known to break when cornering hard and after upgrading springs and rear swaybar.

The stock bushing part might not be from your MINI. Check it out.
Replacing with urethane bushings is OK- talk to Randy Webb at Webbmotorsports.com about how rough the street ride might be if you changed these bushings.

Thanks, minihune.

I'm 99% sure the part is off my car. The handling changed, and we found evidence that that part had dropped into the inside of the right rear wheel, grease and the proper shape. I'll report back once I get it up on the rack.
