HVT suspensions

I wanted to share this group buy link for the just released HVT 6100i coilovers.

https://www.uberbatch.com/offers/hvt...r-mini-cooper/

A couple national caliber autocross drivers are running them here in the MidWest and they have been spectacular. I've just got my HVT setup on this week and for a race ready suspension...it rides smooth on the street too.

If you've considered Ohlins, AST, etc do yourself a favor and check out HVT.

Interesting....I'd give them a try if I didn't have to spend $2300+ for them :-P

I already have too much invested in the Ohlins at this point!

i am about to buy my suspension soon, but i cant really find anything on the net as far as reviews or any kind of user info. thats the reason i think i will be sticking with ohlins.

i would love to try something new but i am not in the business of wasting that much money on something that i cannot find info on.

^ they are formerly AST, very popular. Also Craig W. (pics in the link) is using this suspension on his STX MCS.

I will say though, I think Ohlins would be better for ride quality.. AST wasn't ever really known for that

These aren't ASTs, or the new/old AST company...although somewhat similar in form and basic design.

HVT (http://www.hancheyvehicletech.com) is owed by Brian Hanchey who did a lot of work on ASTs while at Vorshlag. He started HVT to build something better than ASTs (which for awhile where the benchmark, not so much now). They are good about answering the phone when you call with questions.

My 6000 series are paired with aggressive HyperCoil springs and I was expecting a rough street ride. To my surprise they are actually more compliant on the street than my PSS10 Bilsteins where! And I've converted to solid mounts and bushings everywhere when I did the HVT install.

Craig Wilcox (best Mini driver in the country IMHO) was the first to run the setup and he has been blown away by it. This is a guy who has driven on pretty much every coilover combo out there in the last 10+ years.

No kickbacks, or discounts for me pushing the product. I paid full price for mine, so I'm a little miffed at not saving some money.
