The car has about 2.5 inches of bump travel, including the bumpstop. So I would not lower more than an inch (and even then I'd prefer something with less drop but no one makes a spring like that anymore).

Basically for the R53, Swifts are the only real spring option left. I liked the Tein H-techs but they are hard to find.

If you must have a bigger drop, get coilovers.

sean from Trackworks has a couple left for the r53. good guy. I picked up a set a month ago and did the install myself which wasn't too difficult for a noob.

Originally I bought H&R Sports as they are non aggressive enough to be used with stock struts (-1" F and -0.75" R), but recently my stock struts went so I took the opportunity to upgrade to konis. I love the way the car drives now. Slightly firmer but handles bumps so much smoother and with more control (i.e. no bounce or unsettling). Handling is much improved as well. If you don't plan on changing struts, my vote is for the H&Rs. As others have said, you don't want to go drop more than 1" on the stock struts.

I believe ColinGreene sells them too. Bought VT motor mount from him and very helpful.
