GP2 owner looking for suspension upgrades

Hello all, I'm new to the world of MINI & understand this car to be more of a handling vehicle vs a powerhouse. Can you direct me to some useful links on suspension upgrades, not just coilovers &/or springs/shocks. I almost have my mind made up with Ohlins coilovers (from past experience with VWs & a thread on this being a great compromise between track & street), but I'm open to suggestions. I'm not looking to go super low (I live in NYC) & it will not just be for looks. I would like to try an AutoX event twice a year.

My main concern are other parts of the suspension upgrades. What's available, where should I start my search?

Not sure I understand the Q. If you have a GP2, you already have a very high end suspension.

You have the best all around suspension that MINI ever put on a MINI and you want to change it? IMO spend the money on a driving school. The experience you gain there will out weight anything you to do your MINI again IMO.

There's no room for improvement?

Add a larger rear sway bar, change to all poly bushings and add adjustable rear control arms.

Inkw8ll,
I recommend that you contact Way Motor Works. He has a GP, so will be able to relate to any comments that you have. You should drive the car for a while to see what you don't like, or what you want to improve. More grip, less body roll, more stiffness, what do you want?
Braminator is right, you have the car with the latest and greatest MINI suspension yet. That doesn't mean that you cant personalize it.

Thank you, I've placed a few orders with WMW, but have not spoken to him yet in regards. I'll take your advice in regards.

I would add Vorshlag Camber plates to the stock coilovers. As well as a rear sway bar, adjustable end links, adjustable lower control arms to start. If not in love with the coilovers already on the car, then I would look at KW clubsports or V3's also Ohlins. I have Ohlins on my other car, but will go with the clubsports with the mini.

the Hsport Comp Sway bar and some Hsport rear lower control arms are the best 2 things to start with.
also the NM torque arm bushing.

But if you're not really tracking or AutoXing the car how much further do you really need to go? Don't get me wrong I'd love for you to buy a bunch of parts but if you're not going to use them save the money.
