Suspension JCW Left and right rear strut differences?
JCW Left and right rear strut differences?
Is there any physical difference in the rear right and left JCW struts? The L and R markings were completely covered and I did not realize that I have installed the L strut on the right side and the R strut on the left side. They installed just fine and everything went back together just right. I was able to finger thread the lower bolt into the control arm about 75% of the way before it got too tight to do by hand. A real close look with a flashlight and I can see the L and R on the struts through the sticker that is covering them...
They look to by identical. The only thing that is really different is that the bracket for the brake lines and ABS lines are grooved on one side. So if you swap them like I did the groove is on the other side now. The brake lines and ABS sensors all plugged in like normal. I have the front left and right on the correct sides, and they are obviously different looking.
Do I need to tear down the rear and completely redo it? I hope not.

Everything test drove just fine. Tomorrow I will re-check the torque on the key components and call it done unless someone chimes in saying that the struts are absolutely designed for left and right in the rear.
