Just discovered you can adjust the rear camber quite a bit on OEM

Went to put on some H sport lower control arms only to find out I may not actually need them. Not only was getting to the inside lower control arm bolt going to be a giant pain since none of my tools fit but once I removed the outside lower control arm bolt look what I discovered.

(The outside lower control arm bolt w/ the asymmetric spline spacer thing)

(Hard to tell, but theirs about an inch of horizontal movement from inside to outside)

(Matched the notch on the spline spacer to the hole on the left knuckle to achieve min camber)

Sorry for the crummy pic but only had access to my cell phone.

So all you have to do is loosen the smaller bolt and then I hit the kuckle on the bottom inwards and you can see the big spline nut rotate. I don't know how much you can actually dial in but it was more then enough on TSW springs to make the rear camber less then the fronts again.

In the 3rd pic you can see the notch on the bolt that I lined up with the hole on the left kuckle (which faces out), that will get you minimum camber. But not all things are equal. I did the same for the right side and now I have a very small amount of positive rear camber lol. I'll fix it tomorrow when I mess with the toe.

Cheers

Josh

That's pretty good news for me. It seems like it's hit or miss wether or not people need control arms. Hopefully I will actually be able to lower my MINI with just the springs then!

Thanks for the great information!

Yes all MINI's since 2005 have had that rear camber adjustment. But it is a very small amount. And after lowering the car it isn't enough to take out the camber you add with lowering.

What he said. Was not enough adjustment in the stock arms to compensate for my h&r springs. Hand to go with lca's.
