Suspension Help: Coilover problem
Help: Coilover problem
ive been doing a reinstall of vmaxx coilovers on the rear because the top part cracked, but ive seem to hit a problem i cant reinstall the 22mm bolt on the bottom, it just never seems to align right with the trailing arm ill ge it 3/4 of the way in, and then tightening becomes impossible, any ideas? Note i have rear control arms with some negative camber..any help would be appreciated

Use a jack to lift the trailing arm or to compress the shock so that the bolt holes line up. I seem to run into this on the LHS rear shock. The trailing arms is about 1/2" lower all the time.
Sounds like the bolt and or nut is cross threaded. Once you fix that, Use a jack to move the trailing arm up to meet the shock. When the bolt will slide though easily then tighten by hand. Dont use an impact wrench to start the bolts.
put the bolt in from the front and see if it threads through all the way and clean up the threads a bit. This will tell you if it's cross threaded or if you're not lined up right. Clean off the threads inside the trailing arms with some PB blaster and also the bolt and try re-installing the right way.
