Any R58 Coilovers?

Just got a new Mini Coupe S I'm working on. I wanted to improve the suspension a bit with some nice coilovers. Is the car too new to be looking for aftermarket stuff yet, or are there any coilover kits for the R58 available?

Our Custom KW's V2 and V3 work on the R58.

Also had customers that have gotten the Megan coilovers.

This would be the first time I've ever installed coilover suspension on my car, is the improvement very noticeable on the Minis?

Ride might be a little stiffer but it's usually worth it for the more precise steering...the car will drive like it's on rails.

As opposed to the stock 'farm tractor' like driving minis are known for

Haha! So true, well I'll be in the market for some soon then. Going to see if it's something I could slap on myself, and that might be the determining factor when I'll actually get some. Nice car btw!

If you'd like, you can also familiarize yourself with the process by checking out our article on installing Bilstein coilovers...it's pretty straightforward: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarti...stallation.htm

That's an awesome guide Jorge! There's nothing like the satisfaction of doing something yourself (Even if there's a little help along the way). :] Thanks a ton and I appreciate it.

The handling is dramaticly improved, and the car will stick to the road much better.

Great, I'm really looking forward to it. Now I'm just trying to find the best bang for the buck. I see some good looking sets out there, but I'm wondering if what the best upgrade would be for the lowest cost. semi adjustable would be nice, but I'm not really sold on buying something around $3-4k.

Check out VMAXX or AP (similar to KW) coilovers. Also, have you checked the classifieds or eBay? There's some good deals out there on used sets that haven't been abused.

it depends on what you want for your car. if you want a stiff ride id say go for kw's. if you just want to be able to lower it Vmaxx or AP is all you will need. iv never seen AP's for sale in the US tho

edit: id be worried about doing this mod all together on your car tho as its so new it will most likely cause issues with your warranty

Yeah after doing some research on some of the coilovers I think there are some other things I'm going to do before I tackle the suspension. Plus I live in an area where the roads can get really crappy without warning. That why I was kinda looking at some of the "rally" shocks that are out there. I know they're nothing like the $15k stuff they use in the WRC, but maybe something that could handle a pretty big change in road surface.

Really crappy roads in Austin? Nothing coilovers can't handle here... just bumpy.
