I see your reasoning, just don't want the OP to do something unsafe if they typically are not familiar with working on cars. If he can't find something knocking in a safe way then it is time to head to a professional.

Hopefully he finds the source though

He will not be doing anything unsafe with what I recommend. You should see the stuff people do at the track.

Not sure that citing "track stuff" is a good measure of what is OK to do. I'm sure there have been some pretty low stuff done in the name of getting back out...

However, if what slinger suggested seems to be unsafe. You could drive up on a 2x12 that is placed a right angle to the car, put a piece of 2x2 under it as close to the wheel as possible and have a friend push down on that to push the wheel up. You should be able to get a good bounce out of that.

Don't beat up Alta too bad guys, Their design is using aircraft grade rod end bearings. I work in the aircraft industry and have access to some of the best stuff. I have used this on my M3 and also got stretch / loose bearings over time no matter which brand I used. They seem to last about a year before stretching and loosening up. It's a component under a large vibrating load, subjected to grit grime, heat, cold, moisture, salt, you name it. You cant expect it to last forever. The good news is if you shop it you can get replacements pretty inexpensive.
