Megan coilovers

Hi Folks!
Been driving my new BRGreen 09 MCS for a couple of days and so far it's a great ride, more lower end torque than my 03 VW GTI 1.8T which I sold to a happy buyer.
Already ordered all parts for a good Stage 1+ upgrade but having some problems locating the Megan coilovers. I like the idea that these have the camber plates attached (1 piece is better than 2 theory).
I sent Way Works a message (late) tonight asking availablility; hopefully they'll have them.
Any other place that might have this IN STOCK and ready to ship?

Thanks Much!

Got mine from Way awhile back. I think Megan is just not keeping up with their demand. Took about 1 1/2 weeks to get mine.
BTW - I love 'em. Nice looks and smooth ride.

I asked Way last week about Megans. There are none to be found for about a month.

Thanks for the replies and info. I'll keep looking for a bit; may have to go with another brand.

Looked around and may go with D2 Racing RS coilovers. Anyone have experience with them?

I went with the ST's, but they do not come with the Camber plates. The ride is great on them though.

Thanks, Digitys. From what I've read those seem like a solid choice.

I did go ahead and order the D2 Racing coils, crosses fingers. I'm sure they'll be fine, crosses fingers. No, really...

Look at BC Racing. Similar to Megan but higher quality IMO.

Just got a reply from Sonic Motors (Amazon) and they say they have a set (or more) of Megan Coils, if someone is looking.

http://www.amazon.com/Megan-Racing-Coilover-Damper-Kits/dp/B001PLX0AA/ref=?ie=UTF8&m=ADPHJU6F3KUO1

Quoted $850 shipped. Send me a PM and I'll forward the email I got with their phone #.

No problem, Andy. Thanks for your honest opinion. If I end up not liking them I'll just swap them out down the road

Have you tried going to outmotoring.com to get megan racing coilovers? Here's the link if you want to give it a look: http://www.outmotoring.com/MINI_coop...coilovers.html

You need to make sure to adjust the drop-down regarding what MINI Cooper you have.

How long do these last? Also I notice the damping is umpteen adjustable. How often do you find yourself adjusting them? And can one adjustment handle a decent range of conditions or will I now feel the need to pull over every 5 minutes and move the adjustment? Just curious. I have never had coilovers and will be getting something (Bilstien, Koni Yellow or some kind of coilover) in the next year for the daily driver.

I'll tap in here. Just had my Megans put on about 3 weeks ago.
I don't track my car so I didn't have my mechanic slam 'em.
I've got 16" wheels and from the bottom of the wheel arch to the
ground is 24.5 inches. Perfect IMO for daily street use.
The dampers have 32 settings and mine are set in the middle. This
is a perfect ride feel. Not too stiff and not to bouncing. So far I'm
loving them. Also, a plus is the front camber plates come with them.
I also installed h-sport rear camber links.
The quality appears to be very good as well.
The rear dampers are a little harder to get to but they did supply me
with some damper extensions. They are about 12" long, you'd have to
drill a hole in the back sides (rear seat area) just above the struts to install them. Since I'm fine with the middle setting I'm not going to install them but it is a pretty cool option.
For the price I feel they are a good buy. Some people say they are
crap but like anything else some people can be pretty closed minded and
very opinionated. Can't speak on how long they will last but I'm confident
they'll do just fine.
On the flip side, if you are going to do some heavy tracking it might be
best to go with a higher priced set but again, I can't confirm that.
Right now they are hard to get and from what I've heard they'll be more
available within a month or so.
Got mine from www.waymotorworks.com FYI.
Hope this helps a little.
I've attached a couple of pics for ya.

So the rear coil overs don't come with camber plates... or did I read that wrong and all for corners come with camber plates?

Our cars do not use rear camber plates. Rear camber is adjusted using the rear control arms

Creeve answered this but no rear camber plates. I bought h-sport rear camber links. Those must be the same as control arms.
You do have to buy them as well but they are only like $230 for the pair if I remember correctly.
Also, someone chimed in about the green being euro and red being more for street. I believe that is also true. I figured since I don't track my car (but do like a little spirited drive) they are fine. Ride is pretty smooth and nicer in the corners now not to mention they got rid of most of the wheel gap.

Question: I am currently set up with OEM shocks but with Mach V Technics lowering springs.

What is the difference in ride quality with coilovers versus my current set up?

Never had just lowering springs. I will say, with the Megans, the ride is pretty smooth (when damper is set to middle) but I can still feel every little bump, crack, etc. just like when I had the stock springs and shocks.
Everyone says for the BEST ride quality the Koni FSD's are the way to go.
You probably got lowered a little with the Mach V springs but I'd imagine you still have a pretty rough ride.
Plus, I'm sure you are aware, with the coilovers you can change your ride height.
