I went lower about 1.25 - 1.5 with the Mach V. The ride is pretty firm for sure. I don't mind the stiff ride, as I like the stance the MINI has now.

I'll check out the Koni FSDs.

Anyone else have personal experience with the Konis?

Oh, and thanks DrSimmons

Everyone says for the BEST ride quality the Koni FSD's are the way to go.
You probably got lowered a little with the Mach V springs but I'd imagine you still have a pretty rough ride.
Plus, I'm sure you are aware, with the coilovers you can change your ride height.

Careful - Koni doesn't recommend FSDs with lowering springs. Probably need to go with Yellows? No expert here, just doing the same research as you...

You are correct about the FSD's and lowering springs.

Anyone running H&R Sport Springs (1.4" drop) with the OEM shocks? I am getting ready to have a set of H&Rs installed this week and I was told by a MA that had this setup that it rode fairly well. Also installing a NM Eng. 22mm Adj. rear sway bar, NM Eng. Adj. links, and Helix lower control arms.

Do you really need the rear adjustable control arms with the megans? If just a drop of 1" to 1 1/2" I dont think you would, would you?

The newest generation of megan coilovers don't come in red any more. The blue ones like in my picture are the ones equivalent to the old red and black ones (the street ones) The ez streets have lower spring rates by one kg/mm in the front and back. Id say go with the regular street ones not the ez streets.

After having them in for about a week all I can say is wow.. They are just a tad stiffer than stock but around the corners my mini feels like its on rails. My dampening is set to 5 clicks in front 10 clicks in back. I would highly suggest getting these for anyone that wants a great set of coilovers for a great price.

Ok, so I am doing my best on how I want to go about with swapping out the stock suspension with aftermarket suspension, but I need your guys help. I plan on purchasing

1. Megan Racing Coil-Overs:
http://www.outmotoring.com/MINI_coop...coilovers.html
2. Megan Racing Control Arms:
http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...trol_arms.html
3a. Alta 3way Adjustable Sway Bar:
http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop..._Sway_Bar.html
or
3b. NM Engineering Adjustable 22mm Rear Sway Bar:
http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...n_swaybar.html
4. NM ENgineering Adjustable Sway Bar End Links:
http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...end_links.html

Is there anything else I need, any other accessories of the sort. When I was thinking of getting shocks, people said I needed bushings to replace the stock ones, as I would tear them out. Should I get some powerflex bushings for the rear sway or are the ones that come with bar good? And I don't need camber plates, because the Megan CO come with them.

Should I purchase front sway bar as well? Tell me if this setup is good or if I need anything else for this setup. Thanks.

Id definitely recommend getting the h-sport rear control arms. They have oil-able end links. And they are around the same price.

Skip the megan coilovers and buy Bc Br coilovers ,Bc manufactors the coilovers for megan but offers their own version that have a better warranty and higher build quality.

It would be a good idea to use adjustable lower control arms.

Nearly all vendors drop ship directly front the Megan distributor. Most are given a quota each month and will takes orders during the month to fill that quota. Practically nobody "stocks" them in inventory.

Got mine from Way, great to deal with and gives ample free advice.

Was just starting to do a little homework since Thanksgiving and Christmas sales are a comin'... and with H&R's riding on OEM shocks (almost 70K on them, too) I was looking at the Koni Yellows as a replacement. Maybe not anymore. But just so I'm sure, your Yellows were a better ride than OEM? At what setting?

For around a $200 difference this seems like a better solution. And I get to go lower.

If I plan on getting to 150K on my car, do you think these will get there. Only street use - would love to get on a track one day, but it's not likely.

That is good to know that the Megan's seem to be okay on the mini. I had them on a z4 and the ride was beyond unbearable. You would leave your seat and hit your head on the roof when u hit bumps even when on the lowest setting. Even worse on the rougher setting.

So since I wouldn't need lowering springs with the megan setup, then how much will my car drop?

It's probably the exact same damper.

They're a threaded body coilover so you can adjust the drop.

Are there any significant differences between the newer Megans (teal) and the older Street Series (red)?
